Is the 'search' PDF Open parameter still supported?

I am looking to use this feature as it is requested by a client, but I am unable to find one working example.  Is the 'search' PDF Open parameter still supported?  I need something like this to support my end-users.

So if this works can I get some documentation on it besides the http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/acrobat/PDFOpenParameters.pdf from 11 years ago and maybe some explanation of the limitation?

Yes, Acrobat and Reader still support it. However, it won’t work with other PDF viewers.
