First open the properties toolbar (Ctrl/Cmd + E). then reduce your font size.

Then select the text box with the Hand tool, right click and choose "Make Properties Default."

Hi, Document Geek:

Sorry, but your suggestion isn't working for me. Somewhere it got lost that I'm using Acrobat Pro 9.

Maybe that's why using (Ctrl/Cmd + E) does nothing. When I go to Properties, I get this:

and then when I go to Fonts, I see this:

There doesn't seem to be a way to change the font properties, even when I select one of these (seemingly arbitrary) fonts.

If I go to View > Toolbars > Properties Bar, I get this, which doesn't seem to allow for font changes:

Or am I missing something? Other suggestions welcomed!

In Acrobat 9, there is no way to change the default font, only the size. http://documentgeek.blogspot.com/2010/09/how-to-edit-font-properties-within-pdf.html

You'll need to actually select the text within the sticky note in order to change the font size. Read the above article as it explains how the Properties toolbar is contextual.

Also, The "Fonts" tab under Document Properties is just listing the fonts used in the main PDF. It really has nothing to do with the fonts you can use in the sticky notes. But because Acrobat 9 doesn't let you choose sticky note fonts, that's not anything you need to use for this task.

So if you really need to change your sticky note font (beyond just the formatting of smaller, larger, bold, italic, etc), you'll need to upgrade to a more recent version of Acrobat. Sorry!
