is there a way to find out the original color-profile information (fogra, us web coated etc.) of a pdf file?

hello,

i need to find out the original color-profile settings (us web coated, fogra etc.) of a pdf file that was exported directly from adobe photoshop. i was not able to find this information in the document description. the preflight setting itself is set to "fogra" which seems to be the default setting and not the original color profile the pdf-file was created with.

anyone got an idea where to find the original color profile information?

The OP is 3 years old so hope Matthias found the answer some other way

If it is a PDFx you will see the ICC profile as output intent. You can also run a Preflight report, but either way Print Production is your friend.

And if it is not a PDF/X file, depending upon how the PDF file was saved from Photoshop, the image itself may have an ICC profile associated with it. Print Production=>Output Preview=>Preview: Object Inspector can reveal that.

It is also possible that the image was not saved with any color management option, in which case you are up the creek without a paddle.

Open PDF in Acrobat:

1. Tools> Print production > Output preview, open a dialog box

2. Under "Preview" drop down choose "Object inspector" and click away to the areas in your PDF, the lower white box will show details of the color profile, color values, blending space used and intent.

I mean this is as original as it can get. If the profile was "converted" or not embedded in the PDF, during PDF export from InDesign, there would be no way to figure what that InDesign doc had.
