Lock PDF to prevent editing

Hi,

I am creating PDF files using the Adobe PDF printer using a C++ program.
I would like to lock the PDF to prevent further editing. Only changing of the content of the PDF to be prevented, the signing shall be allowed. I have to do it programmatically.
Please clarify API to lock the PDF programmatically.
