Making a scanned PDF either editable, or exportable to Word

Hi ....

I have a very large (696,000 KB) file of a book which appears to be a scanned PDF. I want it to be searchable, and currently it is not.

When I try clicking on edit, the tools shown on the "how to" video do not appear. So I tried converting the whole thing into a Word document but got back the message that it exceeded the 100MB file size.

I can't, however, get the text inside the scanned PDF to select in order to create a small file that would allow me to convert it in chunks.

Any ideas or solutions?
