Question

markup appears in text box

I have an issue when using the "Add text box" tool (square with small T inside it):

After pasting text from Word into the box, I format the text and the box as I want it. When I move the text box, the contents suddenly lose their formatting and XML markup appears as follows:

<?xml version="1.0"?><body xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:xfa="http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/" xfa:APIVersion="Acrobat:15.17.0" xfa:spec="2.0.2"  style="font-size:10.0pt;text-align:left;color:#FF0000;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-family:Helvetica;font-stretch:normal"><p dir="ltr"><spandir="ltr" style="">- 2012 amendments

Selecting Undo has no effect. I have tried removing formatting in Acrobat and Google docs with no change in the result.

Has anyone else had this issue? And can I reset the text back to how it was?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Steven

Hi soltenviva

Try checking update for Acrobat, launch Acrobat>navigate to Help menu>then select Check for updates.

Could you please let me know the version of Acrobat installed on the machine?

To check the version of Acrobat, launch Acrobat>navigate to Help menu>select About Adobe Acrobat

Is this happening only when you copy text from Word? Have you tried copying text from other application like Notepad/Web Browser for ex.

Have you tried adding text box to another pdf file and see if it works without any issue?
