Merged PDF corrupt

I have 2 PDF files, one from an architect with many layers, the other from a Word file.  When I merge the 2 PDF's the resultant single PDF file has many corrupted characters in the portion that came from the architect.  How do I resolve this?

Hi ,

Please tell the Acrobat version and OS you work on.

Please check if Acrobat is updated to the latest patch.

Also ,if on windows,please repair Acrobat once and see if that helps.
