I attempted to upgrade to acrobat XI. I have Acrobat IX on my machine. The upgrade demanded my Acrobat IX serial number which I installed many years and many moves ago. Up until that point my Acrobat IX worked perfectly. Now my Acrobat IX has ceased to work, and I cannot upgrade to XI without a serial number that was lost years ago. What can I do?

you need both you acrobat ix and xi serial numbers.

if you purchased from or register with adobe, check your account - Adobe ID

if you ix is still installed (even if not working), you can recover its serial number:
