needing help with a javascript issue

I created a form with a calculation column. For some reason when I try to add a positive number it is subtracting from the subtotal and when I use a -negative entry it adds to the subtotal. I am completely stumped. Any ideas?

Pretty hard to tell without seeing the script being used or a sample of the form with the problem.
