I have consulted the Berkeley IT department. They showed up at my office,

reinstalled the software, and still no "check for updates" option. They are

baffled and will investigate. I'm using the latest iOS Sierra (which seemed

to displease the IT folks who have yet to approve of the upgrade). The

version the university provides is 2015.008.20082.
