No preview on ruler guides

So I have been trying to find an answer to this sense the release of acrobat x. When you pullout a guide from the ruler there is no preview of where that guide will end up. The preview usually shows up as a black line that then turns blue. This feature exists in all the other Adobe products I use (illustrator, photoshop, INdesign etc.) but after updating to Acrobat x it seemed to go away. Does any one know why this is and how to fix it? It's very annoying to try and place guides without that preview.

This has been going on for more then a year now. Is adobe even attempting to address the issue or am I just going to have to give up and reinstall an old version?

Hi Jmcginn,

This issue is likely to be fixed in the upcoming quarterly release for Acrobat.

We appreciate your patience.

Update:

Adobe has not fixed this issue, one can still not see the guides until the mouse button is released and the guide is placed.

Even after placing, when moving the guide, one cannot see the guide until it has been moved to the new place.

Again, this problem is only with the macOS version.

Build: 17.9.20044.222436 Installed: 6/20/2017.

macOS Sierra: Version: 10.12.5 (16F73)

Hi Jmcginn ,

Could you please post a screenshot of the function you are inquiring about ?

Also what dot version of Acrobat X you have ?

Thanks!

Sorry I missed your reply. I have Acrobat DC version 2015.16.20045 on a mac running El capitain. The problem I am running into is that until you let off the mouse there is no preview either in the forum of a lite colored guide or a little tick on the ruler to hin where your guide will be. Before cc you could see the guide as you pulled it off the rulers. This is still how it works in the rest of the suit( AI, PS, IN etc...). It is a bit difficult to show a screen shot of whats not a happening on Acrobat

so I am attaching an example of what I am talking about only in Photoshop. You can see a preview of the guide before you release and you can see on the rulers (highlighted in blue circles) where the guide is positioned. Acrobat used to have similar features. Now you must release before you see the guide. This makes placing them precisely ( like to figure out bleeds or folds) much harder to do.

Hi ,

Try to repair Acrobat , to repair open Acrobat>help>Repair Installation. If that doesn't work, try to remove Acrobat by Cleaner from here :Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs  and reinstall Acrobat again.

Let us know if you face any issue.

Thank You!
