Number of pages increases while converting pdf to docx using adobe pdf services export api

Word has no fixed page layout anyway. If you take a Word document, then change system, or (especially) printer, it may have a different page layout and different number of pages. This is normal, and you may have to do some desperate tweaking if you are requiring Word to somehow represent exact pages.

This is probably more to do with how word formats the documents, are you able to provide a sample document that shows the problem as it may be that it can be fixed.
