Open/Close File in Acrobat Pro

Can only open/close file in Acrobat Pro by going up to the toolbar, go to file, then to open and pick the document I want to open, must do the same when closing a document. On my other computers all I need to do is double click on the actual document, is there a setting somewhere that I need to change?
