Operation failed because Adobe Acrobat DC encountered an unknown error

Why is this error happening when I try and save a pdf that I have edited? I've search through all forums and this appears to be a very common complaint and yet NOBODY has EVER resolved this problem. Using trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 15.017.20053. Seriously, does Adobe expect people to pay for this software?

Same problem here, I have uninstalled, re-installed, I have lost hours of work....ADOBE correct the problem!!!!

Is this a file specific issue or reproducible with every file? Could you please share one such sample file so that we can investigate it further.

Attempts to save all and any pdf files after using the "Fill & Sign" tool

always results in the error below. Operation failed because Adobe Acrobat

DC encountered an unknown error
