Question

outlined text changes color in pdf

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro on a Windows desktop computer with Adobe software (CC).

I created a document with images and text where some of the text is outlined and has a light drop shadow. The InDesign file was exported as a print ready .pdf, with no downsampling and cmyk settings. When I view the file in a preview state (windows finder) the .pdf in Acrobat Pro shows only one outlined text element as a  different color than it should be (in this case it is supposed to be orange and displays green). Once the .pdf is opened, the entire file appears correctly. This problem has caused issues in prepress and the file being printed incorrectly, however on our printers it will print correctly.

You can't rely on Preview to correctly display or print a PDF. Use Acrobat or Reader instead. Avoid using Pantone (Spot) colors or RGB swatch colors if the file is printing 4C. Use Acrobat's Preview Color Separations to check your PDF for RGB and spot colors.

More info is ideally required, or better yet, a link to sample of the PDF.
