Question

Output language of Word conversion

Acrobat DC Pro, Office 365, Windows 10

When I export to Word, the resulting file is set to US English even though everything on my laptop is set to UK English (i.e. Windows and Word are set to UK English and Acrobat language is set to "same as operating system").  I thought it could be because the original document from which the pdf was first created might be in US English so I created a new document (including the word colour - UK spelling) converted it to pdf and then converted the pdf back to Word.  In the resulting file, colour is shown as an error and it shows the language is English United States.

Is there any way to get output in the right language and stop Acrobat doing an unwanted conversion to US English?

You can try setting the PDF document language under File - Properties - Advanced. The OS language settings have nothing to do with it, in any case.

Thanks but that doesn't solve the problem.  The pdf is set to en-GB but the exported Word document is English (United States)
