PDFs only printing as thumbnails?

I have tried about 15 different fixes for this from Google searches, but to no avail:

Our system is compatible

resaving as PDF to hard drive

printing as image

fitting to page / actual size / shrink... / print.....

played around with sizing in printer properties

and just about any way I could combine the above advice....

Can anyone tell me something else that might help?
