Question

"Please wait...If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document."

I am attempting to download PDF forms using Chrome and receive the "Please wait...If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document.  You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows...etc. etc. etc."  I have latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and Reader.  So I right click on the link to the file and choose, "Save link as" to download the file.  When I do that, I can edit and save the PDF form using my Adobe Acrobat Pro.  I then need to insert this PDF form into a drawing that I created using AutoCAD version 2014 and here is where it gets interesting...when I attempt to attach the PDF form that I just edited, the ONLY PDF sheet I can see is the sheet which says, "Please wait...If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document... etc. etc. etc."  WTF?  I edited the PDF on my desktop PC (running Windows 7 Pro btw) with the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro (so I know all of the sheets are on my computer), and when I attempt to insert the PDF file into my CAD drawing, all I see is the "Please wait..." error message from my Chrome browser???  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks!

This message appears when you attempt to open the file inside Chrome, which has its own PDF viewer plugin. This plugin is (unfortunately) often not up to par, though. For best results you should not open the file in the browser, but save it locally and then open it using Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
Complaints about the Chrome plugin should be sent to its developers. It's not related to Adobe.

There are 2 Adobe programs that create PDF forms but use very different technologies within the forms. One is LiveCycle which uses the XML language. The other is Acrobat. It sounds like you form is created with LiveCycle designer. If you can not attach the form, consider using the Acrobat Portfolio to gather the documents into one file.

Google Chrome has decided to use its very own PDF viewer and as users have found that it is not very compatible with the full PDF ISO standard.
