Printing in symbols

Oftentimes, certain PDF files print in all symbols. How do I correct this? I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.3.1 on a Mac.

This is usually a font issue.

I would print the PDF as an image. In the print screen, select the printer and then that printer's Properties and in that wondow there shoul be an option to Print as an Image. Might be under the Advanced options for the printer.
