There are differences for XFA forms, but unfortunately I don't know the details. It may be worth asking in the LiveCycle Designer forum. Best to check firsts, do you have the full LiveCycle suite, or only Designer?

Also, are you SURE that the functions you want are controlled by Reader Extensions, rather than just being locked out of Reader? I'd hope the Designer JavaScript document would say. Don't rely on the Acrobat JavaScript docs.

‌COsts have run from nothing to seven figures, you'd really need to negotiate a quote. But the territo is changing. there are several different kinds of Reader enabling, some of which aren't even needed in the latest Reader; some can be done in Acrobat; some depend on the type of form. So, is it an XFA (Designer) form, and what actions do you want to allow?  Bear in mind too that an enabled firm cannot be fixed or edited; changes are inevitable so you need more than four enabling a going forward.

Thanks. These forms are all XFA forms and I need to allow actions like Importing/Exporting XML, Save form data as XML.

Thanks. I have Acrobat Pro on my machine but saving the file as a reader extended PDF doesn't seem to help me. It still doesn't allow me to save XML data and neither can I import or export XML files.
