Reader informs me that “this document has an open or a modify password”

I am desperate.   

I just spent hours filling in 66 pages of complex fillable .pdf forms (court documents) using a new version of Acrobat Reader DC . 

I saved the form and returned to correct any errors and Reader DC now informs me that “this document has an open password or a modify password.  You cannot edit or copy this document.” 

What can I do?  I did not have the time to do this once, let alone twice.  Please help!
