Recovering a damaged pdf file from Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

I went to reopen a PDF i was working on Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and a message popped up saying "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC could not open 'file.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged". The file must have been damaged because i had been working on it before. When i was working on it, the only thing i did with it was export it to OneNote on my PC. I tried opening it with different programs, "repair instillation" from the drop down help menu, and emailing it to myself, but nothing worked. Is there anything i can do to recover it?
