Rectangle Tool Properties

When I attempt to change the fill options for the rectangle tool (or any shape tool) under the Markups and Commenting Tools section, it will allow me to select a new background color, but when I close the color picker, the background choice is still none (red diagonal line through the "Fill" box in preferences. Very annoying. I can change the line weight and color, but not the fill. Anyone know how to fix this? Latest updates installed, Mac OS 10.11.6.

Which part of the Acrobat SDK are you using? I wonder if you aren't actually programming and have ended up in the wrong place (it can be hard to choose).
