Reinstalling Acrobat Pro 9 from CS4 hangs

On OSX Yosemite I've been running CS4 for a couple months after a complete reload. I launched Acrobat Pro and it shutdown after saying that the license service is no longer working. The other CS4 applications are working fine. I tried reinstalling but the installer hung after starting the reinstall of just Acrobat. I uninstalled and tried the installation of only Acrobat again with the same result. I seemingly installed it successfully when I installed Acrobat and all the other CS4 apps (even though they were still working fine). Now when Acrobat is launched, I have to enter the system password so it can "make changes." It then says that two missing components require repair. The PDF Printer and PDFViewer Safari Plugin. With those selected and clicking continue, nothing seems to happen and Acrobat won't completely load and can only be stopped with Force Quit. Any idea what to do?
