Replacing text in Comment mode

When I select text in Comment mode and start typing replacement copy, my cursor jumps to the front of the text, causing my words to go haywire. For example: I try to type "communication" and it comes out like "mmunicationco" - this is infuriating. It started after my latest update. Why is it doing this? How can I fix?

Screen shots attached with answers. In the example, I tried to replace

“health” with “your healthcare” by simply typing the replacement. It lets

me type the “y” then jumps back to the beginning, pushing the y behind it.
