Question

Saving a large pdf file

I need to combine a large number of searchable pdf files.  Once I have combined them, Acrobat says that the file is too large to save.  Is there any way around this?  do I need to optimize first?

How large are the files in total? What is the exact message? What is the system? And what are you saving to? If you know, how is it formatted? (Trying to figure out if the limit is in Acrobat, the system, or the disk)

There are about 4700 pages & 1100 documents.  I tried optimizing after combining but I still could not save the file.  I am saving it as a PDF onto my desktop.  storage space is not an issue.  The message was that Acrobat could not save the file because it was too large.  This happened after I optimized the combined files as well

Hi ,

You could combine the files and then optimize to reduce the file size of the PDF'.

If you still are unable to save the PDF' ,you could optimize all the PDF' first through batch processing and then combine them.

Please have a look at the following document and see if that helps.

Yes, but what is the total size in megabytes? The number of pages is nothing unusual. Could you give the EXACT wording of the message please, not a telling of it, as we can only search for the exact wording.
