Question

scanned paper size

I am scanning an 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of paper but when the scanned document comes up as a pdf document, it is longer than 11 inches.  The court system uses electronic filing and will not accept documents larger than 8 1/2 by 11.  I just got a new HP laser jet printer/scanner.  I did not have this problem before.  I called HP but they said it would be an Acrobat problem.  Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

Hi Miller,

It seems you are scanning on Legal size(8.5x14). If so, you can change the size before scanning.

1. If you are scanning from WIA driver(default driver installed after connecting to OS), select Document feeder once and change the paper size to what you want. Now scan either from Flatbed or Document feeder.

2. If you are scanning from TWAIN driver(Scanner's own driver downloaded from HP site), you can select paper size on Acrobat's scan settings.

- Go to File> Create> PDF from scanner

- Select scanner and Default settings/My custom settings and click on settings(Gear icon)

- Now select Letter as paper size on this window

For more assistance, please share following details. So that we can share exact steps to do:

- Acrobat version number

- OS detail

- Scanner detail

- Driver you are using

- Exact steps you are doing to scan

- Screenshot of scanner settings you are using while scanning

Thanks.
