scanning letter size and pdf shows legal size

I got the acrobat pro X1 installed in my computer recently.  When I do create scan from a letter size it scans as legal size.  I did some trouble shooting but there are gray areas to change the paper size to change the settings.

- Acrobat version

- Scanner model number

- Operating System detail (Win/Mac)

- Driver you are using (TWAIN/ICA/WIA)

- What heppens if you scan with scanner's utility with same settings.

Acrobat version  - Adobe ProXI

- Scanner model number HP laserjet Pro 400

- Operating System detail (Win/Mac) win

- Driver you are using (TWAIN/ICA/WIA) don't know

- What heppens if you scan with scanner's utility with same settings. print scan is ok but more steps than going to adobe pro and create scan
