The texts are not searchable in PDF published from PPT 2013 whereas it works in PPT 2003/2007. It appears convert speaker notes to text annotations in the PDF feature is missing in PPT 2013.

We used to approach the following procedure in PPT 2003/2007.

Case: The slide text used to get converted into bit images which makes the text non searchable in the published PDF.

Objective: To achieve text searchablity in the published PDF.

Software:  Acrobat 9 Pro for publishing PDF from PPT 2007/2003.

Procedure:

The following two steps may be achieved by any PDF publishing software.

May be incorrect as tried on Acrobat 9 Pro.

Step 1: Open the PPT 2007/2003. Click the Start buttonImage>Save As>Adobe PDF>Save.

Alternative: In the "Acrobat" ribbon and  click "Preferences". Select the option to "Convert Speaker Notes"

Step 2:  Click "Yes" as illustrated in the following dialog box.

Step Result: The PDF is published.

Note: Ensure PDF is published without NotesPage (landscape) format.

Step 3: Open the PDF in Acrobat 9 Pro and Select Comments>Summarize Comments.
             The following dialog box appears.

Step 4: Select required radio button and click " Create PDF Comment Summary"

Result: The texts were searchable across the published PDF document.

Please let me know if we can resolve the searchabilty issue in PDF published from PPT 2013.

Alok

Hi alex3463

Please try with latest version of Acrobat Pro DC. The trial version can be used.

See if the issue reproduces.

Thanks
