Sequential Number For Each Copy Printed

I'm not fluent in JAVASCRIPT. I want to print blank forms that require a sequential number on each one. I was able to get it to print and change the number each time I printed, but each copy has the same number. Anyone have suggestions? I'm using Acrobat 8.
