Strange lag behavior - slow down of Acrobat

I am trying to markup some 3 MB large pdf files. When I open the file Acrobat starts to time “lag”. When I try to turn a page I press the button and can count up to 3 until the new page appears.

When I try to insert comments, it slows down even further. Anybody got an Idea what to do about it?

I have Adobe Acrobat DC (15.006.30201) and Windows 10 (64-Bit) installed. My Computer should be strong enough with i5 3.4GHz and 32 GB RAM.

HI jensb16877310,

I am sorry for late response.

You might try the following steps and see if that resolves the issue:

1- Check if there is an update available for Acrobat, launch Acrobat>navigate to Help menu>select Check for updates. If there is an update available, download and install it>restart the computer>relaunch Acrobat and see if its working fine.

2- If that doesn't work, try to run Acrobat with Admin rights and perform the same task, locate Acrobat shortcut on the desktop>right click>select Run as administrator.

3- If step 2 doesn't work, try to disable Protected View- launch Acrobat>navigate to Edit menu>select Preferences>Security (Enhanced)>select Off under Protected View and then click OK. Relaunch Acrobat and check if its working fine.

I would like to mention that disabling Protected View is for troubleshooting purpose only and not recommended, Please turn the feature back on after finishing the troubleshooting.

Could you please let me know if this happens when you open a particular file or with all the files?
