Too large pdf after insert background

Hi, I have a pdf with 3000 pages and I have inserted an one page pdf as background from Acrobat Pro Tools. The resulting pdf has 5 GB size (!!!) because every page has a copy of the background instead of a link to that. Is there a way to fix that?

After your edit, did you use just SAVE or SAVE AS? (If you might have just done SAVE, do SAVE AS).

So what is the dif... I want to know before I do it cause  I dont want to wait again for long time to save it... Thanks

Save As (under a new name) forces the document to be optimized and removes unused objects. It can decrease the file-size dramatically.
