Transfer serial number to new computer - Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on my old computer.  I wrote down the serial number and downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 to my new computer but when I go to enter the serial number at installation it says it is an "invalid serial number. On my old computer I tried to "deactivate" Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, but the "deactivate" and "activate" options under "Help" were greyed out.  Does anyone know why it doesn't work?

Well, Acrobat 9 is compatible with Windows 7, but not with Windows 10.

Did you register the program with Adobe? If so, then that should be proof enough that it's a legal version.

I don't know why the activate/deactivate buttons are disabled, but that is not related to the validity of the s/n itself.

As I said, you need to contact Adobe directly and demand an answer.

First of all, Acrobat 9 is not compatible with any current operating system, so problems are to be expected.

However, if you purchased it from a legitimate source then your s/n should be accepted. We can't really help you with this issue, though. Only Adobe support can.

Thanks for the quick response.

Yes it was purchased from a legitimate source- Best Buy or something like that, I just don't have the box/cd anymore.  I used to use it on Windows 7 and it worked fine.  Now I have Windows 10 so that may be the problem, however I downloaded the software from the Adobe site just fine, so seems like something else is the problem.

Why would "activate" and "deactivate" be greyed out on the software on my old computer?
