Unable to Edit PDF using Garamond Font in Acrobat

Hi, I'm having trouble editing a PDF in Acrobat. I activated the Adobe Garamond family and see that it's in my active fonts tab. However, when I try to make edits on a PDF, it's not in the fonts dropdown list. How can I get it in there so I can select it to be used to edit with in Acrobat?
