Unable to install/activate Acrobat 9 Standard

I am upgrading a laptop for a user and they had Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard on the old one.  (Windows 7 64-bit on both laptops)  I was able to copy the key/serial number and deactivate the product on the old laptop.  I then tried to install on the new laptop and when I enter the serial number, it states "Invalid Serial Number."  I have verified it is 24 digits long, with and without hyphens, ran the Adobe Cleaner, and waited a day before trying again.  I also went back and tried to re-activate on the old laptop and it gives me the same message that the serial number is invalid.  I do not understand why it will not transfer the serial number to the new laptop or even why it won't re-activate on the old one.

I am unable to use the chat option as it is not available/working.  Only shows as text and not a link to initiate a chat session.  There is no phone or email support for Acrobat either, so I am out of options...  Any help would be appreciated!

Correct answer kevbum52201

The serial number I was trying to use was an encrypted OEM number.  That is why I was unable to use it.
