there is no acrobat pro reader. there's acrobat pro (costs money and you have a serial number) and adobe reader (free and no serial number).
assuming you have acrobat pro, uninstall whatever is currently installed using the adobe uninstaller.
then properly install using your serial number and the installation file. also, you'll need to allow unidentified publishers:
