Question

Uninstall Acrobat 9 plugin IE

Hello,

I have a user who is using Acrobat 9 as his standard pdf-program. He still has Reader XI installed on the computer as well. When he is trying to print from a intranet-site the printer settings page gets smeared out (http://i.imgur.com/djQ9cYX.png).

If I uninstall Acrobat and keep Reader XI everything works fine, but not the other way around so there is obviously something wrong with the Acrobat plugins. It doesn't work to just disable the plugins in IE for some reason, the printer settings are still messed up. Is there any way to completely remove the Acrobat plugin, or install acrobat without the plugin? It doesn't help to set reader as default program either.

Thanks in advance.

Hi slaskpung ,

Please try running the cleaner tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs" on your machine to remove all traces of Acrobat.

Hi,

I think you misunderstood my question. I don't want to remove Acrobat, The user needs to have Acrobat for pdf-creation and Reader for the IE-plugin since there is something wrong with the Acro plugin for our intranet-site.

I tried to remove

c:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEFavclient.dll

c:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelperShim.dll

And everything related to

{AE7CD045-E861-484F-8273-0445EE161910}

{47833539-D0C5-4125-9FA8-0819E2EAAC93}

in the registry, however it still launching Acros plugin instead of Readers for some weird reason..
