Updating Acrobat Pro 11 on Mac running El Capitan or Sierra (Beta

I cannot get my Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 to update. Says it cannot connect to server. Says error 1042, cannot connect. Anyone else has the problem or know how to ensure my version is the latest? I am running Sierra as a beta but this problem was also occurring during the latest public version of El Capitan.

even though your error message may not seem related to the issue discussed in this link, try it:

update by downloading the files directly and then applying them:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

Roger- I tried that and it said it failed to install after it ran the course. Perhaps it is the beta? Should I just de-install and reload from scratch?
