Upgrade of Acrobat DC Standard to Acrobat DC Pro fails
I am running three new dell OptiPlex 7020 with windows 10. I had three licenses of Acrobat Standard DC from Dell and they were experiencing no problems. I purchased three upgrade licenses to upgrade to Acrobat DC Pro. Adobe's instructions were to install over the existing Acrobat Standard DC. I was able to download the Acrobat DC Pro file from Adobe and extract it with no issues.
When running the set up file, I made sure I had disabled virus protection etc. like Kaspersky Internet Security and windows firewall. During the installation process I would see the "collecting information" information window pop up with a progress bar, with a progress of at 30% the window would close and the install would fail.
I spent hours between phone conversations and chats that were extremely slow and still no resolution.
When purchasing the upgrade I was told that I could use the upgrade file to do a "clean" reinstall of Acrobat Pro DC but I would need both the old and the new license, which I had. I uninstalled Acrobat Standard DC from all three PC's and installed Acrobat Pro DC with no complications. At the first license prompt, I entered the Pro license, at the end of the installation I was prompted for the "previous installation" license and I entered the Standard Dc licenses I had received from Dell.
I hope this helps someone that finds themselves in this situation.
