Question

Upgraded a computer to Windows 10 about 10 days ago and we have to run the repair function from Adobe DC help menu to recreate the Adobe PDF Printer. Can anyone offer a permanent fix?

We upgraded a computer in our office to Windows 10 Professional about 10 days ago.  Every day we are having to run the repair installation function from the help menu in the Acrobat DC software to rebuild the PDF printer as it disappears upon rebooting the computer.  Is there a solution to permanently fix this issue?

Hello ,

Could you please tell if you are able to see Adobe PDF Printer in the drop down when you select Print?

( File>Print)

Also check if Adobe PDF is there under Devices and Printers in Control Panel .

For that >Right Click on Start menu>Control Panel>Devices and Printers.

Also please visit this link -My Windows 10 Pro operating system will not allow me to keep Adobe Acrobat as my default printer. Every time I restart …

Let us know about the results.

Thanks!

Adobe PDF Printer is not available in the print dialog (Microsoft's Print to PDF is there).  When we open Devices and Printers it is also missing.  That is the point where we go into Acrobat DC>Help>Repair installation.  Once we run that (which can take a few minutes to complete) the printer is back.  When we come back in the next day and reboot the computer it is missing from the print dialog again.

Hi ,

Download and run Cleaner tool from here - Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs.

Restart the system.

Then reinstall Acrobat DC.
