What causes Adobe Reader to become unresponsive during document editing?

I am editing a PDF using comment boxes.  The program is continually not responding.  Is there a setting I can use?  Has anyone had similar issues?  I did not have this problem with the previous release of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Try to Repair Installation under Help menu.

Also please share the Acrobat dot version and OS installed on your system.
