When scanning A 4 format docs (210 x 297 mms), Adobe Acrobat X Pro chops the format

to US Letter. Printer (Brother DCF 7055) indicates A 4 format. Other people have reported the same problem with the same and other printers as well -- 3 years ago already, and the problem still persists.
