When you use the redaction tool in adobe pro, to remove text definitely, is the text definitely gone? of is there some software to make the text visible?

It's gone for all intents and purposes. I have yet to hear of a way of getting it back, and I know governmental agencies use it to redact sensitive information, so one can assume it's pretty safe.
