Where do I send the Adobe PDF Library Information Request Form?

I have filled up the "Adobe PDF Library Information Request Form" but I can't find an e-mail to send it to and the "Submit" button on the form does not want to work.

I'm looking to create a solution in my iOS Software I'm currently writing to enable the user to import PDF files and have the software fill out the forms automatically with data from a database. Is this the correct Library I will need and where can I download this library from? I'm using xcode 8, swift 3. Even if its created in objective C, I can manage. But searching on www.adobe.com has thus far been unfruitful.

You need to open and fill this form in either Adobe Acrobat or the free Adobe Reader on a desktop. This is an XFA form, and many other PDF viewers will not correctly handle this document. The email address the form is submitted to is ext-pdfllead@adobe com with the subject of "PDFL Application".

Looks as if you will need to look for other tech. IOS libraries seems quite a specialist market. Don't use any Apple tech, they leave forms broken!

DragonAngel:

As was mentioned earlier, you'd contact Datalogics to license the Adobe PDF Library. Because the library allows for a ton of functionality, even functionality that could replicate functionality found in Acrobat, the price is negotiated on a case by case basis; if the library is a minor part of your application, it's cheaper than if it is the primary use of your application That's why you need to contact them.

However, there is no version of the Adobe PDF Library that will do what you want on the iOS device. You'll need to have the PDF file sent to a server to be populated and then redownloaded. It can be made to appear that it's being done on the device but it won't be.

That said, you actually don't want the Adobe PDF Library, you want the Datalogics PDF Java Toolkit which allows for filling of forms and running the calculations and appearance generation for the data. The Datalogics PDF Java Toolkit was developed by Adobe and productized by Datalogics. It's the same core code that is found in LiveCycle, just as an SDK.

Thanks Joel,

I was hopping to be integrated in the software I'm building and not relying on a different technology. As you probably know, have a second platform involved, it would be more prone to breakage when technologies update. I also did not want to have to resort to someone only knowing some java in my team and certainly can't afford a java expert. What we have are Swift and object c experts and its a very small team. I guess I could be the one to research this but then again, I have to do all the extra works for everything else.

Thank you again,

I hadn't noticed iOS as a supported platform.

Well that is what I'm trying to clear that out. It does mention the library in a few locations on adobe with iOS.

The PDFL is licensed through Datalogics, you can get in touch with them directly: http://www.datalogics.com/

I was under impression that Datalogics charges for already developed plugins. And I really don't like to see "Contact Us" for prices. That usually means the price is not the same for everyone.

I don't know what you mean with your first sentence. As far as I know, Adobe turned over licensing of the PDFL to Datalogics, so unless you are an OEM and use e.g. Adobe's RIP software on your printer, I think you have to go through Datalogics to license it. Even in the old days, when Adobe still licensed the PDFL directly, there was no price tag associated with it.
