Question

why does acrobat pro XI print so slowly?

printing from acrobat pro XI is taking approximately 5-10 minutes per page. I am using Windows 10 and printing to a Ricoh Aficio MP C5000 printer. None of the proposed solutions in the current forums on slow printing have succeeded, and "print as image" has slowed down the print jobs considerably.

One suggestion is to see whether the slowness is in making the print file, or delivering it to the printer. Select the PRINT TO FILE option in the print dialog. What is the speed?

Thanks for this idea. The print to file option processes at a normal speed, so perhaps the problem isn’t in making the print file.

Hi ,

Please check if Acrobat is updated to the latest patch.

Also try to repair it once.

How long is your document?

Try printing a sample PDF and compare the outcome.

If it is a long document, try printing in batches and see how it prints this time.

Thanks for the suggestions. The document length doesn’t appear to matter. The delays occur on a 2-page print or a 17-page print. I have tried multiple repairs for Acrobat, and just did it again. It appears to have sped up the rate so that the pdf does not print continuously, but now suffers only a 3-5 second delay between pages.
