It is to reinstall Adobe Acrobat 9 after i did an upgrade from XP to Windows 7.

that error is often because the installation file and serial number aren't exactly matched.

eg, if the serial number is for a suite, you must use the suite installation file, not one program from the suite's installation file, Error: "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Adobe Creative Suite

It is a Stand Alone Version of Acrobat 9 Standard.  I do not have access to the old hard drive.  There is no ability to do a trial version of the software.

Is there a REAL solution to this.  Paying for Adobe products does not seem smart with this level of support.

I am getting this error like a lot of other people without a solution.
