Question

Why is Acrobat shrinking the Word doc by about 90 percent when converting to a pdf?

I just got a new laptop with WIndows 10 and subscribed to Adobe Acrobat.  I created a Word doc and wanted to convert to a pdf.

When I use the Acrobat tab on Word and convert the document, the pdf is about 90 percent reduced in size and it unreadable.

I did a lot of pdf conversions with my old Windows 7 laptop and had no issues.  Anyone have any answers?  They would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

What version of Word are you running?

In terms of shrinking by about 90%, are you saying that a Word page at 8.5x11 is showing as a much smaller page size in Acrobat? What size? Or if you are still getting a full size page, is the content somehow shrunk by 90%.

More details and maybe a screen shot please!

I have the same problem, where Word documents are reduced in size upon conversion to PDF.   Everything is reduced.  Changing the scaling on printing to compensate doesn't really solve it.  My guess is there is some kind of embedding default that needs to be addressed.  I have noticed this on Macs and PCs.  I have a work application where font and margins are essential to maintain with an Arial 11 font, 0.5 margins.

My system is:

Microsoft Word for Mac Version 15.26 (but it did this on older versions as well)

Mac OS 10.11.6

Adobe Acrobat 2015.017.20053

Thank you, Brian

Thanks

Acrobat's creation of PDF from Word documents in terms of page size is not dependent upon margin settings or font styles in terms of the symptoms reported by the OP.
