Why no tabbed interface for desktop perpetual licensed Acrobat DC Pro and Standard?

In October 2015, Adobe added a tabbed interface to the subscription of Acrobat DC Pro and even to the free Acrobat DC Reader.

For reasons unknown that only disrespect owners of the desktop licensed version of Acrobat DC Pro, Adobe refuses to issue an update that adds the tabbed interface. For heaven's sake, Adobe, you're giving away the tabbed interface in your free Acrobat DC Reader. So why not add it for us paying customers with the desktop perpetual licensed Acrobat DC Pro (and Standard)? If I were cynical, I'd suspect this is a marketing ploy to get us to switch to the relatively expensive subscription version of Acrobat DC Pro, but you're giving it away for free in Acrobat DC Reader.

Could Adobe please have the decency to issue an update to the desktop perpetual licensed Acrobat DC Pro and Standard that adds the tabbed interface to it? It's been nine months since you added it to the subscription DC version and the free DC Reader version. That's enough of a pregnant pause.

    Workaround found! I have discovered a way around Adobe's greedy policy to try to force users into the much more expensive subscription for Acrobat Pro and Standard DC. There's a very low-cost program called TidyTabs Pro that easily enables you to make your licensed Acrobat DC and just about any application that opens files in separate instances of the program, to open multiple documents in a single window with tabs across the top of the single window for each file open in that program (TidyTabs doesn't seem to want to work with Office 365 programs, but you can get Office Tabs from extendoffice.com for that).

    In TidyTabs Pro, you simply go into its Settings and go to "Grouping." Work your way to acrobat.exe and click on the + button and then "Apply." From now on you'll have the tabbed feature without having to switch to Acrobat Pro's subscription model. (The free version of TidyTabs does not let you set up groups.) TidyTabs comes with a free trial, but it runs for just an hour at a time. The program is dirt cheap - $9 for one permanent license, $6 per license for 2-4 licenses, $5.75 for 5-9 licenses (they really enforce the 1 computer per license rule, but at these prices it would take a lot of chutzpah to complain). It's available at nurgo-software.com/products/tidytabs.

    As expected, there was a paid upgrade to Acrobat DC, called Acrobat DC 2017, which now includes the tabbed feature.

    Adobe has said from the beginning that the perpetual version won't receive the new feature updates that the subscription version does. Still, it has received some, so there may be hope.

    You're missing the point. As in every older version, perpetual licenses get major new features when buying an upgrade. Adobe have decided that the perpetual version will have less features and be a version behind the subscription version, which I'd strongly recommend because we'll all need more and more updates to keep up with Windows and Mac OS.

    Sorry, but this is just a greedy practice on Adobe's part. Now if they gave you up to five subscription licenses like Microsoft does with the subscription to Office 365, it would be a different story. But Adobe is simply trying to wring more money out of users who are already paying premium prices for Adobe's full Acrobat programs. No amount of corporate double talk is going to change that.

      I agree wholeheartedly with the above comment!! Why is there no tabbed browsing option in Acrobat Pro DC Desktop licence?????? Please release an update ASAP to include this!
