Word 2106 for mac error when creating pdf

I get an error message ( "could not be saved as file name.pdf") when I try to save as .pdf from Word 2016 on my Mac running El Capitan version 10.11..2.  Adobe Acrobat XI

Sometimes it works by printing as pdf but not always.

Hi douga91466072‌,

This is a MS Word feature, not related to Acrobat. So I will recommend you to consult the support team on MS Word.

However if you have Acrobat or Adobe Export PDF subscription do let us know, we will be glad to help you.

Hi

Can you please tell how are you printing to PDF? Is it via Save as PDF or Save as Adobe PDF?

My only option is Save as PDF.  And the problem is inconsistent.  It works on some word documents but not others.  And sometimes when the Save as PDF does not work, Print/PDF does; other times, neither method works.

That is a Microsoft Office feature and has nothing to do with Acrobat. Please post your queries on a MS forum.
