I really don't understand the Pantone color matches that's going with my color themes. My color themes come from photos that have interesting colors in them, so I use adobe capture to sample the color. Im working in fashion and I don't understand how my Pantone color themes work in adobe color. How do I know that the Pantone color matches will be the same in real life as in adobe color?

    Hello:

Pantone is a system to ensure extremely accurate color production across surfaces. If you choose a set of Pantone colors in the correct book for your medium, those colors correspond with a specific formala to reproduce that exact color for that surface. As an example, if you choose Pantone 18-3949 TCX from the Cotton book in the textiles collection, the color will be that exact shade. However, if you are converting from RGB colors in a digital photograph, the Pantone color space is much smaller than RGB, so there is no one to one conversion. Instead the RGB color is converted to the nearest Pantone match, which may be lighter, darker, a different saturation, or even a slightly different HUE. So in summary,  the Pantone color will be the same Pantone color in real life, but may not be the original RGB color you sampled from the image.

    Hopefully tbis answers your question.
